The Cooperative Christian Ministry is active in my area. They ask for donations of food and money to be able to give to those who do not have the basics. They have added (sometime in the past) this helpful way to giving to those in need without having to remember to gather cans for donation or sending a check:
CCM is enrolled as a non-profit organization in Food Lion's Shop and Share Program . Anyone that has an MVP card can sign up with Food Lion, by linking their MVP card to a Non-Profit Organization (i.e. Cooperative Christian Ministry).
To sign up, go to www.foodlion.com and do the following:
In blue selection list on left side of Food Lion's main page, select -- fundraising
On next page, select -- Link MVP Card to Not-For-Profit Organization
On Shop & Share page, select -- Register my card
On subsequent pages, fill in registration information and continue until registration is complete
After registering with Food Lion, each time you shop at Food Lion and use your MVP card, a portion of your total grocery purchase will be donated to CCM.
